Going slowly to the discovery of the South-East

Walking, riding a horse, a mule or a bike; but even on a surfboard or climbing mountains or caves. You will choose your means of transport, they will think about the aim - discovering the South-East of Sicily, walking in the inside, along “trazzere”, passes, canyons, mule tracks, wide valleys, the gravel bed of a river. They are the guys of “Sicilia in Cammino”, a network of environmental excursionist guides, naturalistic associations, little realities of responsible tourism, family run accommodating places; this network has been created with the only precise and important aim: walking. Walking together in our own land and for our own land. To join the excursions proposed by this association of walkers it is necessary to have just one “technical” requirement: feeling inside an unrestrained passion for the “slow movement”; this one allows people to be in contact with the nature and its majesty, to follow with their own feet the footprints of ancient wayfarers; furthermore, it reveals the best of a generous though complex Sicily. The itineraries of this highly naturalistic content network start from the shelter “Kalura” – situated in Cava d’Ispica on the Iblei Mountains: a plot of steps that will lead you, slowly and sweetly, to meet the soul of the Sicilian people ad of their land.

The guides of the association “Kalura” and “Sicilia in cammino” upon request, propose excursions of different durations: from half a day (2-3 walking hours approximately) to the entire day (4-5 walking hours); for single people, couples or groups on accessible path on the Iblei Mountains.
