Day 1

Arrival and accommodation, welcome cocktail, dinner and overnight

Day 2

Free time in the morning. Afternoon: 4:00 pm start cuisine class at “I tetti di Siciliando”

Aim: preparation of little macaroni with swordfish and aubergine

Activities: the participants will know the raw materials useful to prepare the seasoning of pasta; they will learn which the ingredients, the doses and techniques to cook egg pasta dough are and how to realize handmade little macaroni.

Dinner at Siciliando with all the prepared food + rich starter and dessert

Day 3:

Free time in the morning. Afternoon: 4:00 pm start laboratory of chocolate of Modica at the Coop Quetzal

Aim: realization of a chocolate bar of Modica starting from the raw materials

Activities: the participants will know the raw materials, the origin and the history of the chocolate of Modica. They will knead the cocoa dough together with the different spices and seasonings, in order to create a chocolate bar.

Dinner and overnight.

Day 4:

Free time in the morning.Afternoon: 4:00 pm start cuisine class at “I tetti di Siciliando”

Aim: preparation of “arancine” (because in Modica we call them like this).

Activities: preparation of all the necessary ingredients and realization of all the steps. The participants will learn how to prepare the rice and all the other ingredients necessary for the stuffing, how to manipulate it so as to give it the “arancina” typical (or almost) shape; then, the final step before frying.

Dinner at Siciliando with hot “arancine” and other savory pies.

Day 5

During the morning, visit to Noto, aperitif in the winery “Buonivini” with typical local products and wine and oil tasting.

Activities: presentation and tour of the endurance; the participants will visit the vine varieties of “Nero d’Avola” and “Moscato Bianco” that made up the wines “Santa Cecilia DOC” , “Passito di Noto DOC” and “Moscato di Noto”. They will have an aperitif with typical local products and will taste 4 kinds of wine and a selection of extra virgin olive oil Planeta. Duration approximately 3 hours.

Return to Modica, dinner and overnight.

Day 6

Free time, with the possibility, upon request, to visit a nursery of Mediterranean aromatic herbs; otherwise, excursion to Cava Ispica with a picnic stopover in a shelter, or seaside promenade (Vendicari o Costa San Carlo).

N.B. it is possible, upon request, to ask for brief naturalistic excursions or guided tours to the near Baroque cities, in the spare time as well.
